There are two types of Data services, the first allows you to use a Blackberry or other mobile office-type Smartphones to access the internet.

The second type of Data service, uses Aircards. Aircards easily slip into your PCMCIA slot on your laptop allowing you full Internet access on your laptop from anywhere there is Data coverage... even if are out of the Internet access area.
